Are you graduating with an emphasis in lighting design, sound design, scenic design, costume design, directing, stage management or technical direction?
SOUTA offers a wonderful opportunity for you to meet area theaters, agents, commercial and event production houses--all in one place!
To be eligible to participate in SOUTA's Design/Production/Education Showcase, you must have graduated in December 2024 or be about to graduate in May 2025 with your undergraduate degree.
You will also be asked to have a faculty sponsor who will be contacted to confirm you are ready for entry level or beyond professional work.
Deadlines & fees to participate
Students who want to participate must register by March 7, 2025.
At this time we are asking participants to register in one area only. If you identify as a performer and a designer, we are asking you choose one or the other. The cost to participate is $50.
What you'll be doing
The Design Tech Booths will be open for the duration of the event from 9am-1pm. The lobby will open at 8:00am for you to set up.
Each Design/Production participant will be assigned a booth in the lobby where potential employers will wander in to have a brief chat about their work. Booths will have table and back wall 4' wide and 8' high with a table that is apron 4'x2'. There is no power available so make sure any device you are using will be charged. We will be publishing your resume in our book given to professionals the day of but bring extras to pass out as well. Please bring any snacks or drinks you may need as there will be down time and you will want to keep your energy up. Dress appropriately to meet potential employers and wear comfortable shoes.
