SOUTA offers a wonderful opportunity for you to audition for area theaters, agents, commercial and event production houses - all in one place!

To be eligible to participate in SOUTA as a performer you must have graduated in December 2023 or be about to graduate in May 2024 with your undergraduate degree.

You will also be asked to have a faculty sponsor who will be contacted to confirm you are ready for entry level or beyond professional work.

Deadlines & fees to participate

There will only be 30 audition slots available.

Students who want to participate must register by March 8, 2024.

At this time we are asking participants to register in one area only. If you identify as a performer and a designer, we are asking you choose one or the other.

What you'll be doing

Each performer will be asked to perform a monologue(s) no longer than 3 minutes. There will also be an optional musical audition you can register for at no extra cost where you will be asked to perform 16 bars of music with a live accompanist.

When you register you will be asked to upload your headshot and a one page resume. Your headshot and resume will be included in the published catalogue distributed the day of the event to each professional organization's representative.

You will be assigned an order the day of the event. Performances will be held individually between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. While you wait for your time to perform, you will be backstage in the green room.

For a complete schedule of the event, check out our schedule page.

Where you'll be performing

You will be brought onto the stage individually and introduced before you begin by the host. There will also be a stage manager in the green room with you so you can ask questions and also know when it will be your turn. There will be a change to network after the event in the lobby.
